Roe, Roe, Roe

Well we have gone from Russia, Russia Russia to Roe. Roe, Roe.

The liberal progressive democrats have once again lost their collective minds.

The open seat on SCOTUS with Justice Kennedy retiring has the knives out.

Eminent judges are in the top possibles. Each has already been confirmed for their places on the federal courts where they now sit.

With the deadline fast approaching, Trump has reportedly whittled his 25-name list down to a shortlist of three: appeals court judges Brett Kavanaugh, Raymond Kethledge, and Amy Coney Barrett.

The democrats who have already started their attacks have pinned their hopes on accusing the President of aiming to reverse Roe v. Wade and secondarily overturn the Affordable Care Act.

Sounds like a strategy but it has huge flaws.

Roe is a battle cry for the left. They have shown with their blind lock steps support of Planned Parenthood that abortion is an indelible party platform. Any attack on the abortion giant including the decision that started the industry will be vehemently opposed.

For almost two years now the left has hammered the Russian collusion narrative, have come up empty but yet persist. The mantra is being easily changed, at least temporarily, to the possibility of overturning Roe v Wade.

This writer would like nothing better that a complete ban on abortions, but that will not happen. What could happen is returning to the states the decision making power to allow or disallow abortions in their state and under what circumstances.

The original Roe v Wade decision was based on an overreach of the privacy issue. It has stood because the court has refused to shine the light on the misinterpretation of the that part of the constitution. The stretch allowed women to make decision about keeping or aborting their baby. Fetus was a classification that represented a growing person but not yet viable outside the womb. A very narrow logic for sure. The left is worried that modern medical make that viable period of the pregnancy much short. Perhaps taking it all the way back to the first trimester.

Roe is the tip of the spear for Democrats and they will use it aggressively during this fight. However they understand that a Supreme Court that adheres to the Constitution is no friend of the their progressive, social justice agenda.

For over two hundred years the only thing that has kept the United States of America is the Constitution. A strong court the interprets the founding documents as the fathers wrote it is our only defense in keeping the union.

But fopr now I am enjoying the respite of Russia, Russia, Russia.
