De Blasio is a Disgrace.

Officer Familia's family suffers in their grief, 250 new police officers get sworn in and Mayor De Blasio jets off to Germany.

When his office was challenged about the abhorrent behavior the response was "scheduling conflicts." From that I take being the keynote speaker at the leftist protest "Hamburg Shows Attitude" against the G-20 summit and capitalism in general was so much more important then attending the assassinated officers' funeral. It was apparently more important than getting in front of the new recruits many of which must be questioning their decision to join the NYPD and calm those fears.

Time and time again this Mayor has shown his disdain for law enforcement. Even the Police Commissioner he has chosen is a spineless empty suit who is about to do serious damage to the department. He dances to the Mayor's tune. He has even agreed with the Bronx DA leveling murder charges against an officer who by all reports followed protocol to the letter in the killing of a deranged attacker. Remember Baltimore and the malicious prosecution of six officers in the Freddie Gray death. All of them were acquitted and the DA was sued. Remember the "hands up, don't shot" lie that has lingered as a smear against police. The momentum of the rhetoric does not seem to be attached to any real facts. It is the Al Sharpton syndrome spreading across the country. It is an extension of the famous statement from Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel when he was White House Chief of Staff to President Obama, "You never let a serious crisis go to waste." So, the far left rallying cries are made based on facts that equal a pile of manure but are repeated over and over with fervor until that reality is completely obliterated and forgotten.

As police haters become more and more dangerous across the country isn't it the responsibility for government and elected officials to speak out. Shouldn't those elected officials, who you and I put in office, stand up for law enforcement. Their silence or the obligatory half hearted comments are a testament to their lack of character.

The progressive left just does not understand that the officers of every department, be they local small town, suburban or urban forces are not some occupying force. They are not jack booted thugs. They are fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, sons and daughters who have stepped up to serve and protect citizens. Surely there may be a miniscule number that are not mentally equipped to do police work, but more often than not they get weeded out by their own shortcomings. Labelling the police as the problem is a deflection from the real problems in some neighborhoods.

Black Lives Matter wants to make if about race. Nothing can be further from the truth. Statistics are massively on the side of the police. Vastly more blacks are killed by blacks.

Neighborhood gangs, drug dealers, thieves and thugs are responsible, not the police. The false narrative is perpetuated by the far left, antifa and extreme progressives because it suits their agenda, not because it is fact. And just to point out the obvious Officer Familia was a women of color.

America is suffering a crisis of conscious, I only hope that the awakening comes very soon.
