Automatic Racist

So I am going through my morning rituals, first coffee than work e-mails and then to see what is going on in my Facebook world. Lo and behold the “racist” card is playing loud and clear right in front of my eyes.

The particular post I am writing about is a series of photo’s each captioned “I’m am a proud Black man said the black man”, “I am a proud Native American said the native American”, “I am a proud Asian American said the Asian American”, “I am a proud gay man said the gay man”, etc. Each photo was appropriate and very attractive for the caption. The final photo, a good looking clean cut young man, was captioned “I am a proud white man, said the racist”.

That jumped right off the page and got my attention. It begs the question. Why? Each and every ethnic group, particularly oriented group or religious group can espouse pride in their heritage or leaning with the exception of white folks. I will talk about the exception of Christians at another time.

Are there no black racists, no Asian racists, no native Indian racists and no gay racists? Common sense tells us that that cannot be true. Yet, there it was plain and simple. If I am proud to be a white person I am a racist.

Nothing could be further from the truth but my point is that this narrative has become a rampant diatribe from all the special interest segments of the progressive left. So, let me get this right, I cannot be proud that it was mostly white men who stood up to an absentee monarchy and declared their independence. I am not to be proud that those very same white men wrote a Constitution and a Bill of Rights that is far better than anything known to world either before or after. Am I not to be proud that it was mostly the blood of white men who fought a revolution that gave us our freedom and created the United States of America. Am I to disregard all of that and make believe it did not happen that way.

It seems that those white people who cry racist the loudest cannot see the color of their own skin, and if they do, they somehow are trying to make if different. Self loathing - gone awry. Watching the talking heads that continually dot the airwaves one would think that being white is somehow the root cause of every injustice across the history of time.

Arguments that are of a political perspective are cast into the racist waste bin rather than having an open dialogue about the viewpoints. The latest facet of this agenda is the attempt to attach the “white privilege” tag to the racist label. If you are white not only are you racist, but you are that way because of “white privilege”. Because you are white you are somehow less due to the very fact that you are white. How ludicrous can these people get?

As vacuous as their arguments are they do attract attention from the ultra left and get repeated over and over again. They extol that because I am white and privileged I cannot understand and therefore I am a racist. I am privileged to be white therefore I cannot possibly see that I am a racist.

Guess what folks? I am a proud white man.

Deal with it.
